Tree House Playschool programs are licensed preschools, not daycares. As such, students attend 2.25 hour classes one to three times per week and our classroom schedules align with school calendars including school holidays (spring break, teacher’s convention, summer holidays, etc). Our program has an early education and child development focus (versus child care) and supports socio-emotional learning and development. Our early learning curriculum focuses on early literacy, math and exploration of the world around us. Our staff teams include certified teachers and qualified early education professionals with extensive experience and education in education, child development, social work and community support, and diverse family and student support needs.
Many of our preschool students also attend daycare or other childcare options in addition to preschool. Our students do not have access to before and after school care in the daycares located in our school sites.
No. Tree House does not have additional fundraising requirements and all classroom supplies are provided by the program. While there are no set volunteer obligations, parents and caregivers are always welcome and most often attend class with their child on scheduled special helper or star of the day dates or scheduled classroom celebrations and fieldtrips.
Children can start attending as of their third birthday. If your child is not three by the September class start date, you can still register and your child can start attending after their third birthday. In cases where the class fills, you will need to pay full monthly fees to “hold” their spot until they are old enough to attend. If the class is not full, you are not required to pay fees until the month they first attend at which time full monthly fees are due (no partial months payments are allowed).
Bathroom routines are a learning curve too! We will support your child towards independence in the bathroom however students may not attend class in pull-ups or diapers. If little ones have infrequent accidents we will help them through and request that all children have a full change of clothes, including socks & underwear in a ziploc bag in their backpack at all times. If your child is not fully potty trained, please let us know as being “ready” to use the bathroom independently is not a matter of success or failure, just timing. Your child is welcome to join us in class when the timing is right.
Tree House accepts registration from families living in St. Albert, Morinville, Edmonton and all surrounding communities. You do not need to live in St. Albert or Morinville to register at Tree House.
No, Tree House is not a faith-based or Catholic affiliated preschool program. Our early education curriculum does not include any religious content. We are an inclusive, private preschool program located in welcoming St. Albert Catholic District community schools in St. Albert and Morinville. With the support of a collaborative community partner, we do find that many of our students continue on into the larger school communities where we are located and form lasting school relationships for years ahead.
Yes, we are an inclusive program and students with support needs and/or PUF funding are welcome. Tree House has worked with many community agencies over the years to support varied student needs and abilities (FSCD, GRIT, Community Options, Autism Society of Edmonton). If your child has supports in place, please contact us to discuss what family-directed funding and services are in place. If your child does not yet have supports in place, please contact us with any questions and we will assist in referring you to support agencies or programs for further information or assessment prior to preschool attendance.
All payments and refunds are sent by etransfer. Registration and program fee of $300 is sent to registertreehouse@gmail.com and monthly fees are sent to paymenttreehouse@gmail.com. Monthly fees are due by the first of the month with the exception of September which is due by the 15th. Families are welcome to pay on a monthly, biannual, or annual basis. Please note your child’s name in your etransfer messsage. Tree House has autodeposit, it is the responsibility of families to ensure payment is headed to the address.
Notice of withdrawal is due 30 days prior to your child’s last day of attendance (eg – notice of withdrawal Nov 1st if your child will not attend starting in December). If you child attends any classes in a month, full fees are due for that month. If 30 days notice is not provided for student withdrawal, full fees will be due for the following month. Full fees are due for the month of June even if a child withdraws by May 1st or does not attend.
Our next Open House is scheduled on April 8th at Tree House END in Morinville at 6:30 PM. If you would like to visit a different Tree House site, please email registertreehouse@gmail.com to arrange a brief one on one meeting or learn about upcoming Open House dates.
